A draftsperson will measure, draw and issue a set for somewhere in the low thousands, and an architect’s concept design costs several times that. HWD’s set is $199 — because you did the designing, and because we only have to draw what you already decided. Against a build that runs to hundreds of thousands, it is a rounding error that changes the conversation you have with your builder.

PRELIMINARY · NOT FOR CONSTRUCTION is what every set of drawings says before it is issued. On the free plan it sits on the plan, the elevations and the walkthrough — drawn into the picture rather than laid over it, so a screenshot carries it too.
It is perfect for showing your partner, or your parents, or for deciding whether the study goes at the front. It is no good for building from, and that is the point: the Drawing Set is what you buy when it stops being an idea.
Because you build a home once. A subscription would charge you every month for a thing you need for a few, and it would push us to keep you paying instead of getting you finished. One payment, and we are done.
One payment covers one home for as long as you are building it. Re-draw it, change it, export it again in a year — all included. A second home is a second payment, because it is a second job.
No, and we would rather you didn’t. Design the whole thing free, walk through it, change it until it is right. HWD only asks for money at the moment you go to download the files.
It stays where it is. Free projects don’t expire and nothing gets deleted. Come back in six months and it will be exactly as you left it — stamped, and waiting.
Tell us and we’ll refund it. Australian Consumer Law gives you that right anyway when something doesn’t do what it was said to do, and we are not going to make you argue about it.
No, and nobody should tell you otherwise. They are a measured, dimensioned, to-scale set that a draftsperson, engineer or builder can work from — so nobody has to redraw your home from scratch to start. The certified set still comes from them.
Send them a link to your plan — that is free, on every plan. A proper builder’s licence, with the shared selections and the variation log, comes after the homeowner side is finished.
Yes. Every price on this page is in Australian dollars, GST included. You get a tax invoice by email.
